World Tourism Day in the Anosy region

The Anosy region hosted World Tourism Day from September 27 to September 29, 2018. Local dignitaries honored this event, including Mr. Georget MANDEHATSARA, Prefect of Tolagnaro, and Mr. Jerry HATREFINDRAZANA, deputy of the region. The day was marked by various programs related to tourism and sustainable development in this sector.

A conference debate to start the day

Like all the world days related to the tourism sector, there is always a conference-debate dealing with various topics around tourism. For this World Day in Anosy, the theme was "Tourism and Digital Transformation". An interesting topic that covers both the tourism actors than the regional and national offices who work for tourism development.

A safari ride to watch the whales

A whale safari program was also planned. The goal was to observe these marine mammals that come to visit the Malagasy coasts every year. The sea trip was organized on the day of September 28, 2018. But because of too bad weather, the Safari ride did not happen. Next year, hopefully the climate will be in favor of the participants. They can admire and see more closely these humpback whales that give birth to their offspring.

Sports competitions to close the party

Sports events are not lacking on a World Tourism Day. It is the favorite program of the inhabitants, who have proved their enthusiasm to participate in various competitions. On the program this year : the Bike and Run, a bike race around the city and another race on the Pic Saint Louis. This last place is one of the best tourist sites in the region that many tourists visit every year. This sports program was held on September 29, 2018 and marked the end of the World Tourism Day in the Anosy region.
