"Tonga Soa Day" or the sharing of Malagasy conviviality

Malagasy people are friendly people who know how to welcome visitors. This reputation is known all over the world. As soon as we arrive on the Malagasy soil, the population offers a warm, friendly and very affectionate welcome. It is this hospitality that tourism professionals want to exploit. They founded a concept based on this theme: Tonga Soa Day or #tongasoaday, to develop on social networks.

Showcasing Malagasy hospitality

We are always looking for ideas to promote Madagascar destination. The ONTM, the Ministry of Tourism and all tourism professionals want to take advantage of social networks to serve as promotional tools. They use these networks to inaugurate the "Tonga Soa Day" concept. It's began on July 30, 2018 and will end on August 31, 2018. It will be a month of conviviality and sharing between Malagasy and tourists on social networks. The goal is to show the world how warm and welcoming the Malagasy people are.

The culinary theme at first sight

Tonga Soa Day is not just about smiling to all the tourists and foreigners who come to visit the country. It is about demonstrating via social networks the legendary hospitality of the population. We start with this undeniable smile and then we continue with an invitation around a good Malagasy dish. In other words, it is the culinary theme that is in the background of this concept. During the 30 days of conviviality, Malagasy invite a friend or foreign acquaintance to share good times during a good meal typically Malagasy. All participants immortalize the moment by taking a picture and sharing it on social networks. #Tongasoaday must be written with the photo in order that subscribers can understand the concept.

This initiative is in its first edition but the organizers hope for maximum sharing during these 30 days. They wish that all the Malagasy participate in the promotion of the Madagascar destination. It is even the basis of the concept in addition to promoting the sharing, the sympathy of the Malagasy and the culinary culture of the Big Island.
