The ONTM or National Tourist Office of Madagascar has for mission to promote the Madagascar destination. Recently, he has set up a project to further seduce the European market. Strategies were then implemented to ensure this promotion.
The first strategy to conquer the European market is to install a permanent representative who will sell even more destination Madagascar. This emissary will be like a marketing agent, who knows the big island by heart and who will charm European tourists through several tourist programs. This initiative was decided by the ONTM following the interest of European tourists at the last International Boat Show in La Rochelle from September 26 to October 1, 2018. Madagascar was a guest of honor at this show, which has allowed European tourists to be curious to know the big island and its natural wealth.
When we talk about the European market in the tourism sector, we are referring directly to two countries that are France and Germany. These are the two main European countries that send the largest number of tourists to Madagascar. The ONTM wants to retain them through this permanent representative. The principle is to offer them the necessary to convince them to continue to visit the treasure island.
To succeed the project of loyalty and satisfaction of France and Germany, the ONTM will propose programs targeting these two countries. Among this program, there will be a roadshow established in three French countries and three German countries at the end of 2018. There will also be a program of education on the soil of Madagascar, named "Eductour" reserved for bloggers and international journalists. Finally, the ONTM intends to collaborate with Malagasy tour operators to promote the nautical and sports offers, and encourage German and French tourists to participate in these projects. These offers include sport fishing, diving and bird watching.
