The Forello Tanjombato Exhibition Center in Antananarivo is hosting the big international fair of agriculture from 13 to 16 September 2018. As its name indicates, all the actors of agriculture, whether producers or sellers, will meet at the park. The organizers are booking a very interesting program that will showcase Malagasy agriculture in all its states.
Almost 50% of the surface of the big island is covered with agricultural plantations. This sector is therefore very popular because it forms a major pillar of the local economy. It offers jobs to 80% of Malagasy and provides 30% of gross domestic products. The international fair dedicated to this area is one of the opportunities for all Malagasy and foreigners to know the place held by this sector in relation to the Malagasy economy. The entire Indian Ocean area is counting on this event to highlight Malagasy agriculture for the benefit of the entire chain of operations.
The program aims to be rich to better value activities revolving around agriculture. Apart from the conferences that will deal with the subject of agri-food and livestock, there will also be exhibitions on rural infrastructure, organic farming, agricultural tools and equipment, the world of agro- business and the universe of investor-farm financing. 12000m2 are reserved for all participants. All the actors of the agrifood subsidiary will have a special space. A demonstration of their work will be on the program. This will focus on the preparation and processing of agricultural products into finished consumer products.
And since there will be a preparation of agricultural products, there will surely be a tasting session of local products. Some animations await the visitors to taste the products of each region of the big island. Famous products such as Vakinankaratra carrots or Kily of Tulear will be at the rendezvous. Unusual and innovative products will also be available in some stands.
